Orthodontic options

Malocclusion (crowded, misaligned teeth) can be corrected by orthodontic treatment.

Orthodontic treatment for children often begins between ages 8 and 14 during growth to produce optimal results. Adults can have orthodontic treatment as healthy teeth can be orthodontically treated at any age.

There are different options in aligning your teeth.

Traditional orthodontic braces have been used for centuries to straighten teeth. In the past few decades, significant research has been done to improve the understanding of the process and the technology used to implement it. We also have the option to use invisible braces, invisible aligners (ClearCorrect™) to slowly move your teeth. Other options include appliances for arch development, habit appliance to correct for bad habits  and the DNA appliance ™, a removable appliance that provides a natural way for the body to move teeth into their correct positions, using the concept of Epigenetic Orthodontics to enhance craniofacial development.

Invisible Clear Aligners, ClearCorrect

ClearCorrect Invisible braces are the clear and simple way to straighten your teeth so you can

Why Use ClearCorrect?

If you are looking for an alternative to metal braces, ClearCorrect is the clear and simple choice. No wires. No brackets. Just clear, convenient comfort and every reason to smile.

With ClearCorrect your dentist or orthodontist can straighten your teeth using a series of clear, custom, removable aligners. Each aligner moves your teeth just a little bit at a time until you eventually get straight teeth.

How ClearCorrect Work?

We will evaluate your teeth and discuss with you any problems or goals you have for your smile. Once we establish that ClearCorrect is the right treatment option for you, we will take impressions, photos, and x-rays of your teeth, and have ClearCorrect aligners custom manufactured just for you. The aligners are manufactured using the latest digital automated manufacturing processes.

You'll wear your aligners all the time, except while eating and drinking or during daily tooth care, such as brushing and flossing. Your ClearCorrect aligners are so clear they are barely noticeable so they won't have an impact on your day to day life. Aligner by aligner, you'll be able to see the difference as your teeth slowly adjust and align to your target smile. You'll visit your doctor periodically for checkups to see how you're progressing until you eventually have the straight smile you've always wanted.

The Choice Is Clear!

With the results and convenience ClearCorrect offers and the advantages it has over other treatment options, it's an easy decision. With ClearCorrect you can get the obvious benefits and confidence you'll enjoy with straight teeth so you too can show off your smile.

Braces

Orthodontic braces work by utilizing an arch wire and ligature (generally rubber bands) to put constant pressure on the teeth through a bracket. This constant, low pressure slowly moves the teeth into their proper position. Your dentist will monitor this movement and make adjustments to the pressure at particular locations in order to assure the teeth move appropriately.

Malocclusion, crowding, spacing, misalignment or similar problems can be hereditary and may also be caused by habits such as thumb-sucking, tongue thrusting, lip wedging, mouth breathing due to allergies or large tonsils and adenoids, premature loss of teeth or trauma. Some of these habits can be corrected with certain orthodontic appliances if diagnosed early.

It is best to start orthodontic treatment in children, because their teeth are developing and jaw is growing. The process simply guides the teeth during their natural growth. It is ideal to have an orthodontic evaluation at the mixed dentition period (the time when primary and permanent teeth in the mouth).

Adult orthodontic treatment can correct spacing, crowding, malocclusion problems and straighten teeth. Treatment may take longer for adults as the facial bone are no longer in the growth phase and there is a higher risk of relapse. For certain severe crowding or malocclusion cases, teeth extraction or maxillofacial surgery may be required.

DNA Appliance™, Orthopedic appliance

DNA Appliance™

Dr Reid is a certified DNA Appliance™s provider.

The DNA Appliance™ is developed by Dr. Dave Singh. He found a natural method that utilizes a removable appliance that consist of 3-D Axial springs™ that are specially made from Do-Not-Adjust wire™ or DNA wire™to move teeth into their correct positions, using the concept of Epigenetic Orthodontics to enhance craniofacial development.

Epigenetic orthodontics uses a person's natural genes to correct and straighten the teeth without the use of force brackets.

Traditional orthodontic treatments that employ brackets and wires on teeth apply a much bigger force than the DNA appliance to move teeth. Epigenetic Orthodontics differs from the traditional way of moving teeth. It does not employ heavy mechanical forces to move teeth, but a patented removable Daytime-Nighttime Appliance™(or DNA appliance™) is worn during the evening and while patient is sleeping to gently correct the positions of the teeth in its own natural way.

There is evidence available in dental and medical literature that the DNA appliances™ help to guide the teeth, jaws, TMJ, face and airway into more optimal relations for functions, such as sleep and breathing. The DNA appliance protocols are also effective in addressing issues such as TMD and obstructive sleep apnea in both adults and children without using surgery, drugs or injections.

Habit appliance, thongue thrust, open bite, arch development, childrens ortho

The Myofunctional Appliance

The bead is trains the tongue to swallow in a correct pattern by telling patient to spin the bead with the posterior aspect of the tongue. This programs the tongue to squeeze against the roof of the mouth rather than  pushing forward against teeth.  This prevents open bite and also develop upper arch allowing teeth to erupt properly.
